Postcards from Europe, Travels with Friends
My first trip to Europe back in 1992! I fell in love with Italy and this Polka dot Vespa. I still remember taking this photo, having my friends strike a pose behind it , the streets of Florence behind them.
People watching, gelato tasting, cappuccino sipping afternoons. This shot was from the large piazza in front of the Cathedral of Santa Maria Novella in Florence. Italian gentlemen, dressed up by American standards, for a walk and chat at the piazza. Two months in Florence and I am looking forward to returning.
Traveling with my friend Sam. After our 2 months in Florence, with our eurail passes in hand, we hugged the mediterranean coast through the south of France. Barcelona was our first stop in Spain and then onto Granada and Rhonda. Eventually we reached the Algarve in Portugal. With a few more days before we needed to start making our way to Paris we headed to the fishing village of Sines and the loveliest little train station. Up the coast, off the tourist route, charming pottery and great seafood. Portugal is close to the top of my list of where I want to travel next.
1999 and my second trip to Europe. Traveling with my dear friend Denise for a month in Spain and Amsterdam. Madrid, Toledo, Cordoba and north too Bilbao. I’m a sucker for lamp posts, terra cotta tiled rooftops, throw in an archway and potted geraniums and I am in love. It was also the year I met my husband. We let him join us for a week…this is Deep, in the Jewish Quarter of Seville.
Hanging out with Denise, eating pizza in this plaza close to the cathedral in the Jewish Quarter of Seville. Its all about the lamp posts…and the amazing flamenco at night!
