I’m thrilled to announce my first feature exhibition in Seattle in several years, and I’m especially excited about this show because it marks a significant shift in my work. For years, I’ve focused on urban settings—capturing doors, windows, and shopfronts from my travels and local haunts. But for the past three years, I’ve been working on something close to my heart: depicting Indian, specifically Punjabi, women in their daily lives.

Finding Inspiration with Silk Fabrics
I spent some time last month playing in the studio with my growing collection of silk fabrics. Bits and pieces of fabric purchased, found, gifted and handed down to me because maybe I could do something with them. Some have been with me for over 30 years, waiting patiently in a trunk. Memories of travels to India or just the Punjabi Market in Vancouver, back in the 80’s and 90’s, when it was thriving on those few blocks at Main and 49th.
